November 2019 Releases Part 1

Need a little inspiration to help plan your cinema trips next month? We have you covered with our look at some of the best movies coming out in the first half of November!

November 1st

A manager of an orphanage in Kolkata travels to New York to meet a benefactor. – Synopsis from IMDB
Ricky and his family have been fighting an uphill struggle against debt since the 2008 financial crash. An opportunity to wrestle back some independence appears with a shiny new van and the chance to run a franchise as a self employed delivery driver. It’s hard work, and his wife’s job as a carer is no easier. The family unit is strong but when both are pulled in different directions everything comes to breaking point. – Synopsis taken from IMDB

Well so far November 1st is shaping up to not be a very light hearted time. Hoping for something a little less heavy later in the month, lets continue.

November 6th

In 1862, daredevil balloon pilot Amelia Wren (Felicity Jones) teams up with pioneering meteorologist James Glaisher (Eddie Redmayne) to advance human knowledge of the weather and fly higher than anyone in history. While breaking records and advancing scientific discovery, their voyage to the very edge of existence helps the unlikely pair find their place in the world they have left far below them. But they face physical and emotional challenges in the thin air, as the ascent becomes a fight for survival. – Synopsis taken from IMBD

This one has a lot more promise for me. Still a heavy subject matter but also a sense or wonder and whimsy. This will be a definite must watch. I do believe that UK Cineworld Cinemas are also holding an Unlimited Screening of this as well.

November 8th

MIDWAY centers on the Battle of Midway, a clash between the American fleet and the Imperial Japanese Navy which marked a pivotal turning point in the Pacific Theater during WWII. The film, based on the real-life events of this heroic feat, tells the story of the leaders and soldiers who used their instincts, fortitude and bravery to overcome the odds. – Synopsis taken from IMDB

Yikes, here’s another one that while it promises to be a major cinematic event, is going to be a hard hitter emotions wise. Or at least we hope it will be. November really is hitting us where it hurts. Right in the feels.

A married couple is forced to reckon with their idealized image of their son, adopted from war-torn Eritrea, after an alarming discovery by a devoted high school teacher threatens his status as an all-star student. – Synopsis taken from IMDB

This is another film i believe is getting a Cineworld unlimited screening for those of us in the UK. And another one that promises to hit hard. I don’t feel like I will be having a lot of fun in the movies for a couple of weeks here….

November 15th

Dave has decided to get over his recent breakup by seeking refuge in his nephew Felix, accompanying him on a school trip, among other things, to be able to get closer to one of the teachers, Miss Caroline. Everything seems normal, at least until a zombie invasion breaks out that will threaten Dave’s plans. New horror movie icon Lupita Nyong’o nails it in this blend of comedy and gore. Written by Sitges Film Festival

This is much more up my alley and am hoping after a few weeks of tough watches, this will perk me right back up in time for some of the awesome films that are coming in the second half of the month.

These are by no means the only films that are getting UK releases in the first 2 weeks of November. These are just some of the ones I wanted to highlight for your attention. What films are you most looking forward to next month? Are there any from the beginning the month you think we left out? Please bare in mind i am basing this on UK release dates, and dates in other countries may be different.

Stay tuned for our picks of the second half of the month, coming in a couple of weeks. There are some real stonkers coming!!
