This is, for me, one of the most underrated Disney films out there.  Coming out between Frozen and Moana, it is understandable why sometimes, this one got missed.  But I am here to tell you that, if you haven’t watched Big Hero 6 yet, and you are a Disney fan, you are seriously missing out.

Big Hero 6 tells the story of Hiro, who, after his brother is killed in a fire, takes it upon himself to find out who is responsible and why. With the help of his brothers adorable but a little gormless robot Baymax, and some of his classmates, he uncovers a plot of corporate espionage gone wrong.

Everything about his film is adorable.   From Baymax acting drunk once his batteries start running out, to the bond Hiro forms with the lovable bot and his class of cyber geniuses.  To me this is one Disney film that adults will love watching as much as their kids. There are scenes here that make me laugh out loud every time I watch them, and some of those jokes would definitely go over the heads of some younger kids.

This one does deal with some strong subjects though, Death, grief, greed, depression, if you or any of your little ones may be sensitive to these things it is worth being aware that this could be potentially upsetting. But at the same time maybe comforting and educating to younger children during a time of loss.  (But don’t quote me on that. It’s just an idea.)

With a fantastic soundtrack featuring the likes of Fall Out Boy and the beautiful animation we have come to expect from Disney, this is one Disney classic that should not be missed.
