Most Anticipated September Releases

I am more than ready for summer to be over and for Spooky season to start. September is still looking a little thin for new releases due to COVID but here are a few that I really looking forward to. As always, this is not a complete list of the films releasing this month, just the ones that I am most excited about.

4th September

“A young Chinese maiden disguises herself as a male warrior in order to save her father.” – From IMDB

For those of us that are able to pay the slightly inflated price, Mulan lands on Disney+ on the 4th after skipping it’s theatrical release all together. I haven’t been a fan of many of Disney’s recent live action remakes. So I am hoping that this one can change my mind.

“Full of misgivings, a young woman travels with her new boyfriend to his parents’ secluded farm. Upon arriving, she comes to question everything she thought she knew about him, and herself.” – From IMDB

This looks like it is going to be a bizarre experience and I am totally up for a bizarre experience. Jessie Buckley Is always fabulous, and I am looking forward to seeing her do something a little different.

16th September

“Sinister characters converge around a young man devoted to protecting those he loves in a postwar backwoods town teeming with corruption and brutality.” – From IMDB

This film has one of the best casts I have seen in a while and I would be shocked if, with talent like this, they can make a bad film. The trailer looks brutal and intense and I am excited for a crazy ride.

18th September

Successful author Veronica Henley finds herself trapped in a horrifying reality and must uncover the mind-bending mystery before it’s too late. – From IMD

Produced by the amazing Jordan Peele, this new horror film looks to be one that will get people talking. I am a huge horror fan, and have loved all Peele’s previous films, so I cannot imagine I will not like this, even if I have heard some less than great reactions to it
