Most Anticipated October 2020 Releases

October is my favourite month of the year, it’s also my 1 Year Bloggversary and there are some super exciting releases coming out this month. This isn’t a complete list of everything I plan to watch, but it is the ones that I am most excited about.

The Haunting of Bly Manor – 9th Oct

After an au pair’s tragic death, Henry hires a young American nanny to care for his orphaned niece and nephew who reside at Bly Manor with the chef Owen, groundskeeper Jamie and housekeeper, Mrs. Grose.

Hill house was one of my favourite Netflix shows last year, so I am super pumped for this second instalment loosely based on ‘The Taming of the Shrew.’

Saint Maud – 9th Oct

Follows a pious nurse who becomes dangerously obsessed with saving the soul of her dying patient.

The trailer for this looks bonkers and Morfydd Clark’s performance looks like it is going to be spectacular. I am a huge horror fan and a fan of a lot of releases by A24 as well so I have high hopes.

Pixie – 23th October

To avenge her mother’s death, Pixie masterminds a heist but must flee across Ireland from gangsters, take on the patriarchy, and choose her own destiny.

It’s Irish, it’s a heist, there’s a strong female lead character, there a re a lot of things for me to love here. I am looking forward to this one for sure.

The Mandalorian Season 2 – 30th October

The travels of a lone bounty hunter in the outer reaches of the galaxy, far from the authority of the New Republic.

Lets all be really honest, we came here for the Star Wars references and we stayed for the adorableness of Baby Yoda. The trailer for season 2 just dropped and I am already so hyped for this. I cannot wait!

These are the titles that I am most excited for. I am sad that Black Widow can’t be included here because for thirty beautiful minutes I actually thought I might get to see it at the end of the month. But alas another Covid casualty.

What are your most anticipated releases that are coming up? Are there any that you think I missed? Leave me a comment.
