As Karli and her Flagsmashers plan to take down the GRC, Sam and Bucky once again enlist the help of Sharon Carter to track her down before she can hurt more people.  They get an unexpected ally in the form of John Walker, still suited up but now stripped of his title.  Bucky makes amends for some of the wrongs he did as the Winter Soldier, John is given a new title and Sam embraces his new role.

This last episode had A LOT to wrap up, so I was a little surprised by it’s slightly shorter runtime.  And while I do think it wrapped up all of the plotlines that needed to be wrapped up, I do think it felt a little rushed, especially towards the end, and in the way that it dealt with Karli in particular.  There was a lot of build up for her character only for it to all be over so quickly, which was a little disappointing.

Sam’s first outing as Cap however was anything but disappointing.  We got some fantastic combat and action scenes in this episode including some really awesome Arial combat.  So as always they didn’t disappoint there.  Anthony Mackie does a great job in this episode, having to play Sam a little different now that he has the extra responsibility of the shield.  The scene towards the end with the members of the GRC proves he will have no problem stepping into Chris Evans’ shoes when it comes to giving the big speeches and inspiring the troops.  Also that speech is incredibly well delivered and very impactful and emotional.  A fantastic scene.

We obviously have a lot of set up still for future projects.  It doesn’t seem like we are done with either Sharon Carter or John Walker, both of whom look to be very interesting and morally ambiguous characters to come back in later projects. Obviously we aren’t done with Sam Wilson, and I am hoping we get Bucky back as well.

An extra episode would have helped to make the pacing of these final events feel less rushed, and given justice to the ending of some of the storylines, but I am so excited to see where all these characters go now…..And now we just have to wait seven weeks for Loki.  See you all then.

‘The Falcon and the Winter Solider’ is streaming on Disney+ Now.

Please do not leave any spoiler content in the comments if you wish to discuss this weeks episode, I am happy to chat about it with anyone via twitter DMs etc, but please, not direct spoilers out in the open.  You wouldn’t want it spoiled for you, don’t spoil it for someone else.
